You are in Control with Paul Bennett

In the opening speech at the “You are in Control” conference in Reykjavik we got to listen to one of my favorite thinkers. Paul Bennett is the creative director of the highly innovative IDEO company.

His opening with a weird Youtube music video of a pre-punk pre-disco French band, set the stage. He would not give us “STRATEGIC SHIT”!

Three main points:

• Relinquish control – gives you control
• Doing good – begets doing good (trust and morality)
• Pie is the new Slice (work to increase the size of the whole instead of trying to get a piece of the pie)

Seven points to thrive by in the digital world:

• Higher Purpose & Meaning
• Embrace failure and learn from it
• Be utterly transparent
• Be peoply wepoly
• Create the THEATER not the PLAY
• Be fundamentally trusting
• Play well with others
